A thanks is free. Here is how that works.
Creators keep every rupee of a thanks. Here is who pays for what, what a supporter sees, and when the money reaches your bank.
On this page
A thanks on Just a Thanks is a line and an amount. A fan writes the line, picks the amount and pays in two taps on UPI. You get the whole amount. We take 0% of it.
That is the promise in the footer of every page, so it is worth showing how it holds up.
What a supporter sees
When someone sends you a thanks, the payment screen shows their amount and, next to it, a small optional amount for the service. It is a few rupees, it is shown before they pay, and one tap removes it.
If they keep it, that small amount pays for running the service and for the payment partner’s cost. Your thanks arrives in full.
If they remove it, nothing changes on our side. We still take nothing. The only thing that comes out of the thanks is the payment partner’s actual cost for that payment, and we show it to you line by line.
Memberships and downloads
Monthly or yearly memberships and paid downloads cost us real money to run: mandates, renewals, delivery and support. For those we charge 5% plus GST, and the GST is on our fee only, not on the whole amount. That works out to 5.9% in all.
| What a fan pays | What you receive |
|---|---|
| A ₹100 thanks | ₹100 |
| A ₹299 monthly membership | ₹281.36 a month |
| A ₹499 download | ₹469.56 |
There is nothing else on top. No monthly fee, no setup fee, no payout fee and no fixed charge per payment.
When the money reaches you
Payouts go to the bank account you add when you set up your page. They reach your bank within two working days, and they cost nothing.1
Every payout shows what it is made of: each thanks, each membership and each download, with any cost next to the payment it came from.
Why we do it this way
A thanks is not a sale. It is someone saying your work mattered to them, and we think it should reach you the way they meant it.
We are in private preview and letting creators in by invitation. If you want a page, ask for an invitation and tell us what you make.

Tax rules still apply. Above ₹5 lakh of earnings in a financial year, TDS of 0.1% is deducted under section 194-O. You get full credit for it in Form 26AS, and we show it on every payout. ↩
